This Open Call targets SMEs that are interested in using downstream space data to create solutions that have a positive environmental impact, either:
For the company itself
E.g., by improving current internal processes to minimize resources, waste, pollution, etc.
OR
For their users
E.g., by developing products/ services for better resource management, environmental monitoring, etc.
What we offer
Through the Advisory Services Program we can help you set the technical and business requirements for your solution, find you a suitable external service provider for the Financial Support Program (to be launched in June 2026), and generally build your capacity to tap the full potential of space-enabled innovation

Who can apply
SMEs* based in EU members States and Horizon Europe Associated Countries that can demonstrate their potential to leverage downstream space data, such as EO, remote sensing and satellite navigation to cut environmental footprint.
*Applicants must comply with the EU definition of an SME. The key criteria are:

Fewer than 250 employees

Annual turnover not exceeding €50 million or annual balance sheet total not exceeding €43 million

The program places a particular focus on supporting solutions in areas such as:
Improvement of circularity, resource efficiency, and waste management
Safe, resource-efficient, and environmentally friendly management of primary, secondary, and critical raw materials
Improved environmental monitoring

Technically no.
However, participating in the Advisory Services Program will significantly increase your chances of winning a grant, as through the program we will practically help you improve your solution and overall strengthen your proposal.
Participation in the Advisory Services Program does not involve the direct provision of financial grants or funding to selected SMEs. Instead, selected SMEs will receive up to 50 hours support through mentoring and advisory services
The 2nd Open Call includes one cut-off date before the final closing deadline. This allows for two evaluation batches:

Cut-off date: 28 February 2026 (17:00 CET). Applications submitted by this date will be evaluated in the first round. Successful applicants will be onboarded in March 2026.

Final deadline: 31 March 2026 (17:00 CET). Applications submitted after the first cut-off will be evaluated in the second round. Successful applicants will be onboarded in April 2026.
The submission platform will remain open and continue accepting applications until the final deadline on 31 March 2026 (17:00 CET).
As the 2nd Open Call includes one cut-off date the evaluation and announcement of the results will be carried out in two phases.

Applicants who submit by the cut-off date (28 February 2026) will be notified of the outcome in March 2026.

Applicants who submit after the cut-off date, up to the final deadline (31 March 2026), will be notified in April 2026.
All notifications will be sent via email to the contact details provided in the application.
The FIERCE Advisory Services will be delivered remotely and online, without the need for physical presence.
Selected SMEs will not be required to sign a traditional agreement. Instead, they will be asked to sign a simplified Privacy Notice outlining the terms of their participation and data management provisions.
